Story

Three years ago a group of neighbours in Cambridge got together with Milton Road School to create The Art of Reading - a project that transformed the ugly hoardings around a building site into a joyful artwork by children from the school. We raised more than £2500 to make the project happen.

Now we'd like to give that project a new life by including some of the children's artwork in a creative project called Forest of Imagination. Forest of Imagination was launched last year by the arts and wellbeing charity Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination (CCI), whose director, Ruth Sapsed, first came up with the Art of Reading idea. This year CCI is creating a large-scale 'forest' of hangings (like the one above) featuring artwork inspired by trees and the natural world that will be suspended in an avenue in Wandlebury on 27 Nov and Christ's Pieces on 5 Dec.

We would like to include artwork by the children of Milton Road School in the city-wide Forest of Imagination project, and are hoping to create 4 beautiful new hangings by repurposing some of the original drawings. We need to raise £480 to cover the printing and design costs. Please help us make Milton Road School part of the Forest of Imagination!

Thank you!
